Sunday Street is an event celebrated every year in San Francisco. This year, they have decided to expand the outdoor community event in a more successful way by adding more dates and including more neighborhoods. Last year was the first year celebration hosted by San Francisco and few events and celebration were made regarding health, fitness and community. Sunday street event got inspiration from a 30 year old program of Bogota Columbia and similar events took part in other locations like Japan and Ukraine.
In Sunday Streets, new neighborhoods including bayview, civic center and western addition were also included. The city streets neighborhoods designated for the Sunday streets will be closed to vehicular traffic from 10 Am to 3 Pm and opens to pedestrians, bicyclists and other non-motorized activities. Participants are invited to join groups along the event route such as yoga and fitness clinics, children's art activities and community related groups. It is an opportunity for out of town tourist to enjoy the San Francisco events.
