Sausalito

Sausalito, a small touristy village will be one of our better stops on the tour. From the ferry building we will take a fun ferry ride to Sausalito (approximately 25 minutes.)

The name Sausalito is Spanish for “little willow”, is located just north of the Golden Gate Bridge. It is a small seaside village of 2.5 miles, consisting of 7,500 residents and is made up of Mediterranean style and charm. The village was incorporated in 1893, and named by the 18th century Spanish explorers who found an abundance of the little willow trees on the banks of its streams.

Sausalito is known around the world for its art galleries, shops and gourmet restaurants. To get there you need to take the ferry. On a clear day the scenery by ferry is more than breath taking. You’ll be running from one end of the boat to another like a little child trying to catch a glimpse at each site. You can also bike across the Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito and then catch a Ferry back. Experiencing the uniqueness that is Suasalito is like taking a little vacation in your vacation.

During your San Francisco tour aboard San Francisco Comprehensive Tours we will take to this location stop and give you 45 minutes to walk around, take pictures, shop and grab something to eat.
