Exploratorium

The Exploratorium known as the museum of science, art and human perception, is a leader in the movement to promote museums as educational centers. The Exploratorium was founded in 1969 by Dr. Frank Oppenheimer, and was its director -- until his death in 1985.

The Exploratorium experiments with new practices for discovering the world. It is an interactive museum with art exhibits and a laboratory for research and development. The Exploratorium considers its mission to nurture curiosity in the world around us.
The Palace of Fine Arts is the only remaining structure from the 1915 Panama-Pacific Exposition.
