Sushi Groove - San Francisco
Many sushi fanatics consider the sushi at this restaurant the best in the city. There is a respectable mix of traditional sushi and sashimi, along with some very creative sushi rolls. If you’re not sure you like sushi, try one of the sushi rolls, which often have cooked fillings such as fried crab or seared tuna. For those not into sushi at all, there are several alternatives on the menu.

This restaurant has two locations, Russian Hill (the original location) and SoMa. The Russian Hill restaurant is very small and can be an elbow-to-elbow during peak hours. The newer SoMa location (1516 Folsom Street, between 11th and 12th Streets) is larger, but can be much noisier than the original. At any rate, try to ignore these minor distractions and enjoy the amazing sushi.
Tip: One thing about Sushi Groove is that it's popular and a very small restaurant. So you may have to wait outside for about 20 minutes before getting in, but it's worth it. Not just in quality, but their prices are more than fair for great sushi.
