Bottled Water bans in San Francisco

Newsom has issued a decision-making order banning city departments from purchasing bottled water, even for water coolers. The ban goes into result from July 1, and would extend to water coolers by December 1.

The move was owed as a way to assist stem universal warming and save taxpayer money. "We're expecting to set the example for the private sector and other cities in getting off the bottle," said Tony Winnicker, orator for the San Francisco public utilities commission.

Bald Eagle Soon No Longer Endangered

Jun. 18 - KGO - Mission completed -- that's what San Francisco Zoo officials are conforming about the California Bald Eagle Recovery Program. The once endangered bird might soon be moved off the list of threatened species, and last week the zoo was shipping out the last nine adult bald eagles completing their effort to breed and release birds into the wild.

These California bald eagles are Tennessee bound. There, they would assist augmenting the population of bald eagles in the south.

Teen shot at San Francisco during attempt to robbery

Police are on going to examine a Monday night shooting, which left a teenager in serious condition in a home hospital, a San Francisco police dispatcher said today. The shooting took place after a tried robbery in the Forest Hill neighborhood, according to a correspondent. The injured party and other teenagers were sitting on some steps near the junction of Dewey Boulevard and Pacheco Street when they were move toward by another group of teenagers around 10:30 p.m.

After the second group of teens tried to rob the victims they shot at the victims, the correspondent said. One teenager was hit and taken to San Francisco General Hospital.

Toxic Toys Banned in San Francisco

The city of San Francisco would start enforcing a ban on the sale, sharing and production of baby products, which have any level of the toxic chemical bisphenol A, or certain levels of phthalates.

Both chemicals - which are used to solidify or make softer plastic products - could leach out of the plastic in toys and products every time any baby puts it in its mouth, possibly causing serious health problems. San Francisco's law is modeled after a ban that went into result in the European Union earlier this year.
