Coastal Clean - Up Day

The Association of Bay Area Government (ABAG) administered San Francisco Estuary Project (SFEP) has joined up with Save The Bay to celebrate the Coastal Cleanup Day on Saturday, September 20, 2008, at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Regional Shoreline Park, which is located at the southern end of San Leandro Bay in the Oakland Estuary (Doolittle Drive and Swan Way). The event will Begin at 9 a.m. and the volunteers are asked to stage near Arrowhead Marsh at the wooden Observation Tower. The Cleanup activities will last until noon and will be concluded with a brief ceremony to mark the significance of the day’s activities. One of the significance of this coastal clean up day is to attract the people having San Francisco tours. Volunteers will also receive their own personal reusable canvas handbags from SFEP as an ongoing reminder to reduce the usage of plastic bags.
