Google near contract on San Francisco wireless network

Google Inc. and Internet service provider EarthLink Inc. are now near to signing a deal, which will create a wireless Internet network across San Francisco, according to reports Tuesday.

The contract terms, after Mountain View-based Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) and Atlanta, Ga.-based EarthLink (NASDAQ:ELNK) endorse them, should get the OK of San Francisco's board of supervisors.
