SAN FRANCISCO - At the height of ethnic separation during year 1940s, Victoria Manalo Draves was barred from using few public swimming pools so that she could practice her diving skills in the preparation for 1948 Olympic Games in the London.
The Victoria Manalo Draves Park is known to be the first large-scale park to open in San Francisco in more than a decade. At two acres, it also includes children and toddlers' play gear, a softball field, a picnic area, and even a basketball court. Soon, it will also include areas for teaching kids about natural systems and their environment.
