San Francisco's selected Board of Supervisors issued a strong reprove Tuesday to the Vatican over its influence a publicly funded broad charity not to provide adoption services to same-sex couples.
In a nonbinding resolution that passed generally, the board said: "It is insolent to all San Franciscans when a foreign country, like the Vatican, meddles with and attempts to negatively influence this great city's existing and traditional customs and traditions, such as the right of same-sex couples to adopt and care for children in need."
