NAPA, Calif. - Hikers and other outdoor enthusiast can now access a extensive publicly owned ranch that forms a key stretch of protected lands from lower Solano County to higher Lake County.
The 12,575-acre Napa Ranch assets, placed at the northern end of Lake Berryessa, is marked by rolling hills and plenteous wildlife including black bears, mountain lions, and bald and golden eagles.
The state Wildlife Conservation Board bought the assets last month for $12.5 million from a Florida corporation. The land is being administered as a wildlife area by the state Department of Fish and Game.
