San Francisco will once again be in the international sports spotlight as it kicks off the AMGEN tour, a demanding 600-mile, eight-day pro-cycling race.
The world-class race opens with a short, intense prologue through the streets of San Francisco on Sunday,Feb. 19. Starting by the Ferry Building at Pier 1, the 1.9-mile course will run along the Embarcadero, make a left onto Bay Street, and continue on to Telegraph Hill and Coit Tower.
Stage One begins on Monday, Feb. 20, from Sausalito to Santa Rosa. The event will draw international media coverage as well as cycling enthusiasts from outside the City. For more information, visit www.amgentourofcalifornia.com.
