Julius Castle - San Francisco
Located in North Beach on Telegraph
Hill, Julius Castle is an historical landmark
with a beautiful view and known as one of San
Francisco’s most romantic restaurants.
Opened in 1922, built by former
restaurant counterman and Italian immigrant, Julius
Roz. Through its windows, the many patrons have
viewed the history of San Francisco. First the
building of the Bay Bridge in 1933, then the man-made
Treasure Island. Treasure Island was made from
soil dredged from the bottom of the bay for the
1939 World’s Fair. During World War II diners
watched as military ships passed through the bay
alongside the ferries. You also get a great view
of Alcatraz Island from here.
