"The Haight" is what Haight
Ashbury is commonly known as. The name comes from
the streets of the Haight and Ashbury intersection.
The former home of the Grateful Dead, Janis Joplin
and many hallucinogenics - even though it's way
beyond these notorious times, Haight Ashbury is
still a premier neighborhood to visit. With hundreds
of shops and cool restaurants it's a must see.
Today upscale boutiques and stores dominate the
corners of Haight and Ashbury streets. In fact,
on the corner of Haight and Ashbury now lies a
Gap clothing store. But don't let that fool you,
there's still plenty to see and do in this neighborhood.
