Grace Cathedral - San Francisco

The crown of Nob Hill is the grand neo-Gothic church Grace Cathedral. With frescoes depicting the history of San Francisco and scenes from the life of St. Francis of Assisi, to the beautiful stained glass windows, also famed for its Ghiberti doors ("The Gates of Paradise") at the entrance, with labyrinths and medieval and contemporary furnishings, as well as its carillon, organs, and choir, the Cathedral has become an international pilgrimage center for church-goer and visitor alike.

This Cathedral will be the highlight of your tour to Nob Hill. The Church also features two labyrinths, an outdoor labyrinth made of terrazzo stone and the indoor wool tapestry labyrinth. Grace Cathedral is a living cathedral -- a cathedral built of people -- the donors who built and furnished it, the clergy and staff who serve it, the congregation who worship in it and serve the wider community, the schoolboys who study in cathedral crypt classrooms, and the visitors who come by the hundreds daily to explore and learn from it, to walk the labyrinth, or to sit in quiet contemplation.
