The Exploratorium known as the museum of science, art and human perception, is a leader in the movement to promote museums as educational centers. The Exploratorium was founded in 1969 by Dr. Frank Oppenheimer, and was its director -- until his death in 1985.
The Exploratorium experiments with new practices for discovering the world. It is an interactive museum with art exhibits and a laboratory for research and development. The Exploratorium considers its mission to nurture curiosity in the world around us.
