Archbishops Mansion

The Archbishop's Mansion, a grand San Francisco bed and breakfast, sits on the Northeast corner of historic Alamo Square Park. It is just 1.5 miles from Golden Gate Park and close to the Performing Arts facilities of the Civic Center. Downtown, Union Square, Chinatown, and Fisherman's Wharf are each a quick 10-minute drive from the mansion.

Some history:

Built for the Archbishop of San Francisco in 1904, this French chateau-style mansion is now an extravagantly romantic and grand San Francisco bed and breakfast located on charming Alamo Square Park. The mansion is surrounded by San Francisco's most plentiful collection of Victorian architecture including the famous "Painted Ladies". Spectacularly crafted woodwork, antiques and a sweeping staircase grace the varied common areas. Each of the 15 guestrooms and suites at this historic San Francisco hotel are individually decorated and named after an opera.

A Chandelier used in the movie "Gone with the Wind" hangs above a Bechstein grand piano once owned by Noel Coward. Although we will drive by this popular mansion during our day 2 San Francisco tour, you can also take a free tour inside by calling ahead to make a reservation.
